Today I wanna give you my take on the whole Joaquin Phoenix Cast as Dr. Strange and a possible origin story for the sorcerer supreme.
First of all Joaquin Phoenix who was previously linked to the Batman v Superman movie, has for quite a while been linked to Dr. Strange movie project which still doesn't have an official release date. To me this whole situation is getting a bit too annoying. We reported the casting of Dr. Strange a few days before Comic Con but it's been a month now since that report and no official announcenent has been made. It looks as if Marvel has no clue as what they want to do with the project.
A second issue, in my opinion, is another rumour which has been circulating over the past two weeks and according to this rumour the movie will not be an origin story. In fact, some believe that since his name was thrown randomly around in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, his character has already been in action for quite sometimes! Even if that is the case I still wanna see how he became what he is, how he mastered his powers and how he ended up on Hydra's radar. Is it too much to ask to get an origin story for every superhero we are introduced to? One of the things that I completely love about the Dark Knight Trilogy is that it showed us the beginning and the end of an hero and that was the only time we saw that. Other superhero movie franchises failed to do that. So please Marvel, DC, Fox and Sony, we know that you only care about making money but at least give us an origin story and closure in your superhero movie franchises.
