Constantine Comic Con teaser review

Hey Guys,
This is the first time I am talking about this brand new tv show which will air on NBC next fall. Honestly I had no intention of reviewing the teaser trailers that have come out and I was not even going to watch the series. Frankly, I do not know anything about Constantine but even after a small search on google I still wasn't interested. The first teaser trailer that was released a couple of months ago, a to be honest with you I didn't like it. I don't like this Horror/Supernatural tone that the series had, I've never really been a fan of this but in spite of all of this I've decided to review the comic-con trailer that came out because I've seen something which really fascinates me.
For those of you wondering, Constantine is not tied to other dc television properties such as Arrow or Gotham and the rights to the character have been given to NBC therefore do not expect any crossovers. What got me interested in this tv show, is that at some point in the trailer we see Doctor Fate helmet.
That is the only reason why I'll start watching the show, at least the first few episodes because I wanna see how they tie that into their universe. Doctor Fate is such an imporant character in the DC Comics and I wanna see what plans they have for him.
I know I am a bit redundant but one of the problems of having so many universes and by that I mean having Arrow and Flash in one Universe, then having Gotham in its own universe is that you never know how much power the screenwriters actually have. I mean, are they allowed to use other important charcaters? What are NBC's limitations? The problem is that it's getting a bit confusing. I mean if Ras Al Ghul pop up in Gotham, in Starling City and even on the big screen I would kind of be confused coz three actors will play the same role.
Getting back to Constantine, I really hope they expand on Doctor Fate and I really hope that the helmet that they showed us was not simply something they used to make us tune in this fall.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Arrow Comic Con teaser trailer review

Hey Guys,
We still don't know what Stephen Amell meant when he said he was going to win Comic-Con or when he said that Arrow was just the tip of the iceberg but nevertheless at Comic Con Mr. Amell and the whole Arrow crew showed an awesome teaser trailer for the upcoming Season 3. This preview showed us Oliver Queen's life without Deathstroke, who's inprisoned on the island, and Oliver tries to move on with his life by asking Felicity out to dinner. However, trouble is around the corner. The Arrow will have to suit up to defend his city meanwhile Oliver will have to fight to avoid selling his company to Mr. Ray Palmer (The Atom) played by Brandon Routh. But what got us exciting was that after what seemd the end of the trailer we hear Malcolm say: "I found myself in a place called Nanda Parbat, I met a man there" then Moira saying "Ra's al Ghul" then we hear Ra's al Ghul has ordered your return meanwhile the camera circles around what appears to be Ra's Al Ghul but without ever showing his face. We have wondered whether they were going to bring him in Season 3 and it looks like the Demon himself has found its way to Starling City.
Futhermore, it was recently confirmed that Ted Grant aka WildCat is also going to appear on the show.  If you guys were into Smallville you might remember him from the episode Society which briefly showed him as part of the the Justice Society. His abilities are Expert krav-maga fighter, World Champion Boxer, Peak of human physical condition, Nine lives at any given time.  He has been part of the Justice Society but also a member of the Suicide Squad and who knows the Suicide Squad might need another member.
Honestly we couldn't be more excited for Arrow Season 3 and I have a small wish: to see Harley Quinn character be shown on the show. If you remember it, her presence was teased in episode 16 of the past season but she was never shown. Stephen Amell didn't win Comic-Con but he gave us a lot to look forward to, that's for sure.

Marvel Studios Panel recap

Hey guys,
We can officially say that Comic-Con is over. Hall H was taken by storm yesterday witnessing the first teaser for Batman V Superman: Dawn of justice and also the first footage from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel Studios dropped some very interesting peices of news.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Footage Shatters Our Worlds And Blows Our MindsDespite not having filmed yet, Ant-Man was still able to produce a teaser for the Hall H attendees. Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) and Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) voiced over the video. The video is not up yet, we weren't even able to find a leaked version but it all takes place in a Lab where they discuss about an experiment they are carrying out. Also it was announced that Evangeline Lilly is part of the cast and she will play Hope who's Hank Pym's daughter. Correy Stoll is the evil ex-partner Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket.
View image on TwitterView image on TwitterThen it was the turn of the Avengers. All Avengers including new cast members walked on stage together with James Spader as Ultron and Paul Bettany as Vision. Footage was shown, but Mr. Feige said that no footage will make its way out of the walls of Hall H.  Thanos will be played by Josh Brolin who also walked out on stage wearing  the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Panel ended with a bang. James Gunn and Chris Pratt announced that Guardians of the Galaxy sequel will be released July 18th, 2017.
You have to give Marvel credit. The first Guardians isn't even out yet and they are already announcing a sequel. Confidence is the key of success and they are the living proof of that.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer (VIDEO) review

Hey guys,
I've just found the first uploaded footage of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showed yesterday at Comic-Con in San Diego. It's not a high-resolution video but it will get you pumped anyway. Here it is: Watch it and then let's talk about it.

It's just a teaser trailer but as you can hear from the audience at Hall H everybody went nuts. If you really think about it, this is this first footage ever of a live action movie featuring Batman and Superman together. We see Batman turning on his Bat Signal which has a completely new look. The bat resembles more the logo used in The Dark Knight Returns. Ben Affleck as Batman is wearing an armor suit which is exactly the same as that used in Frank Miller's version of the Caped Crusader. I am curious to see whether this armor will give him superhuman strength like it did in the graphic novel that this movie is apparently based on. Needless to say that Batman is in Gotham and by turning on his bat signal he issues a challenge to what is going to be his nemesis in this movie: Superman. The Camera looks up in the sky and we first see a bolt of lightning and then out of nowhere Superman's cape is shown. Awesome presentation of the Man of Steel that we have grown to love over the past year. His eyes immediately turn red as if he were already in a fighting mood. We are not sure how Batman is going to stop a very pissed-off Superman. Overall I loved how the scene was set, the darker tone which a trademark of Batman, the rain it all feels like an epic battle is about to begin.

So what did you think of this teaser? Were you satisfied or were you hoping to see more?

WB/DC Panel Recap

Hey guys,
the WB/DC Panel has just ended and here is what happened. We're only going to discuss the 1st part of the panel, the one that featured the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Three were the highlights of the first part.

1. Zach Snyder comes out and says "Was shooting last night and jumped on a plane this morning to get here. "It's going amazingly well, I couldn't be happier", and then he drops a very short trailer featuring Batman and Superman. I haven't seen it and apparently I will never see it since it's nowhere to be found on the internet. If someone knows where to find it please post the link down below.

2. After the audience at Hall H was shocked Zack said: "Why not bring out the cast then". Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck come out followed by Gal Gadot. Needless to say that the crowd went nuts. The trinity was finally presented at Comic-Con. Mind-blowing scene!

3. IF that didn't get you excited enough then they also dropped a photo featuring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It's a similar photo to the one of Ben Affleck as Batman where we can't really tell what the colors of the costume actually are but it still looks great and most importantly she looks fantastic in the costume. Anyway her screen presence was never an issue, the issue was her skills as an actor and that still remains a mistery.

Up until yesterday nobody had a clue that WB was going to bring Batman v Superman to Comic Con and if we consider that we have to say that they gave us a lot compared to what we were expecting. Are this little footage and photos enough to win Comic-Con? I really don't know, Batman v Superman is still 2 years away, no clue has been given as to whether Justice League is being shot back to back with Batman v Superman and no slate has been presented for upcoming projects. Frankly we were expecting more from them and I would have preferred to sneek a peek at their movie slate rather than watching a very short clip with a movie that is still 2 years away. I am afraid that WB still have no solid plans concerning their cinematic universe and I fear that after 2016 we might have to wait from two to three years to see Justice League come to life.

As always, let us know what you think in the comment section below

Dr. Strange has been cast

Hey guys,

Shocking news: Marvel has apparently found the actor who's going to play Dr. Strange which will have a possible release date in 2016. Joaquin Phoenix is very close to signing a multi-picture deal with Marvel. Needless to say that I love this casting. I absolutely love the actor, I love his movies and I am really looking forward to this movie. This news has a strange timing, considering that Marvel's panel will be tomorrow Sunday the 27th and fans are now wondering whether Phoenix will show up at Hall H. Well, I wouldn't bet on it. Joaquin Phoenix has been known for not being a team player therefore I wouldn't bet on him showing up and besides it's not like they need him to. Marvel have got big plans for us, we are anxious to see a first look at next year's Avengers and more.
Joaquin Phoenix who was rumored to play Lex Luthor, only to loose to Jesse Eisenberg has finally landed a superhero role.
After reading about this news all I could think was that I would love to see Joaquin Phoenix as Dr. Strange face to face with RDJ as Iron Man.
However, despite the great casting I am still not sure that a solo Dr. Strange movie will be a huge hit, maybe Joaquin Phoenix will have to be a team player and pop up in another film before 2016/2017. I guess it will all depend on whether Guardians of the Galaxy will have a huge box office success or not.
Are you excited for Dr. Strange? What do you think of the casting?

Robert Downey Jr and Iron Man 4

Hey guys,
Fans have wondered how long they had to wait before watching another instalment of the Iron Man franchise. After several comments made by cast members like Iron Man himself and Gwyneth Paltrow a forth Iron Man seemed unlikely. Also Marvel Studios had announced that RDJ would return for at least 2 more Avengers movie but they also had said that no Iron Man was in the works. Iron Man 3 was last year the second highest grossing film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the 6th highest grossing film in history.
In an interview by Entertainement Weekly a couple days ago RDJ said he is open to the possibility. He specifically said:
"It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree.”
Apparently RDJ has chaged his mind; last year he said that he was too old for another Iron Man but apparently the huge success of the third instalment has changed the mind of the highest paid actor of the past two years.
But fans, do not despair! Whether Iron Man 4 happens or not we'll still get to see Marvel's favourite billionaire next year in Avengers: Age of Ultron and in at least another movie.
Meanwhile Marvel Studios have locked dates for their upcoming projects:
July 28th and November 3hd 2017
July 6th and and November 2nd 2018
May 3hd 2019.
5 more movies are on their way and it highly likely that either July 6th 2018 or May 3hd 2019 will be the date for Avengers 3 with the latter being the most likely.
Now, we all know that Ant-Man will open up Marvel's phase 3 followed by Captain America 3 in 2016 and another yet unnamed project which is most likely to be Dr. Strange. Then for the recently announced dates rumors say that apart from an Avengers movie, there will be a Thor 3, Guardians 2, Hulk and Black Panther.
What do you say? Which Marvel movie would you like to see? Let us know in the comment section! Personally I would love to see a Planet Hulk.

Sinister six date locked

Hey guys,
November 11th 2016 is the official release date for the Amazing Spider Man spin-off: the Sinister Six. We had been promised a Sinister Six for a couple of years now and it is reassuring now to have a date that we can look forward to. Amazing Spider Man 2 was heavily criticized because of the fact that it was more of a set up movie than a sequel. Because of all the criticism (which yours truly does not agree with) a solo Spider Man movie has been pushed back to 2018.
Now, I'm confident that this is the right path for Sony, I loved the Amazing Spider Man 2 but at the same time I think ,considering the way they set up the movie, that it's fitting that they have a Sinister Six movie first. I think we'll see Andrew Garfield as Spiderman in this movie, perhaps we might get to see how his fight against Rhino ended at the beginning of the movie and that will lead into the assemble of the awesome Sinister Six.
As for the line up of the team, no official announcement has been made. There are different comic book incarnation of the Sinister Six but it is reasonable to assume that Harry Osborn (Goblin), Doctor Octopus, Volture and Rhino are the confirmed ones. Paul Giamatti who played Rhino in the Amazing Spider Man 2 will most likely reprise his role and so will Dane Dehaan as the Green Goblin. We are still not sure about the rest of the team but who knows we could have more news on the way coming from San Diego Comic Con in the upcoming days.

Volture                                Doctor Octopus                             Goblin                                                Rhino

Are you excited for this movie? Leave a comment below and let us know what you think

Geoff Johns confirms no shared universe

Hey Guys,
there you have it! Yesterday Jeoff Johns Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics confirmed that the DC cinematic Universe will be kept separate from the TV Universe. They are each "their own universes" "It's a separate universe than film so that the filmmakers can tell the story that's best for film," Johns said. "While we explore something different in a different corner of the DC universe." This is what Johns said at the CW Panel of The Flash destroying even that glimmer of hope that we could see Stephen Amell in a Justice League movie. WB/DC have apparently acknowledged their incompetence in planning out a succesfull share universe like Marvel has done. Honestly, I don't see what the problem is since there will not be a movie before 2016 which means that they do not have to coordinate anything before then. There are free creatively speaking to do whatever they want to, all they have to do is meet on a monthly basis and let eachother know what their plans are. Jeff also added that it will be difficult to have 2 Justice Leagues ( one on TV and the other on the big screen). Now here's what I think: Agents of the S.H.I.E.L.D is a shitty show with an awful story but people tune in to see it despite the horrible episodes. More than 5 million people watched the season finale as opposed to Arrow season 2 finale with a little more than 2 million viewers. What should we learn from this WB/DC? We should learn that having a shared universe raises the number of viewers both in the tv and movie universe. Look at the buzz Guardians of the Galaxy is getting. Nobody in their right mind would have taken even the smallest of interest in this property if it wasn't in the MCU. But in a world where Marvel has a huge success steaming from the fact that they have chosen to have a shared universe, what does DC do? It's simple, they give the rights off to Fox for Batman, they keep Green Lantern movie out of the movie universe and since the Dark Knight Trilogy grossed over 2.5 Billion $ at the worldwide box office and they are in this business for making money they decided to keep even that universe separate. Basically all they do is separate universes. Now the implications of such decision will be that we won't get to see the Flash in the movie universe otherwise audiences will get confused when they see Flash on TV played by Grant Gustin and another Flash on the big screen. Every hope that us DC Fanboys had were flushed down the toilet.
They say that Hollywood is about making money but WB/DC is an exception to this. Even Avatar announced 3 sequels with a story so predictable that we had seen a million times before but here WB/DC will not continue good franchises that make them a lot of money and nor they intend to continue franchises that haven't made them a lot of money.

I really don't get them and I am truly disappointed by all of this.

Transformers: Age of Extinction movie review

Hey guys,
Trasformers Age of Exctiontion has finally been released in Italy. We have had to wait two more weeks to see it but it's finally here. This is a spoiler filled review. Let's start!!!. This fourth installment in the Transformers franchise is not tecnically a reboot but it kind of is. No references whatsoever to the original trilogy characters and not even a cameo. They could have either said that Sam was dead or that the autobots simply wanted to protect him by staying away.
Much has happened after the events of Chicago and this story takes place exactly three years after the previous film. Nowadays the autobots are on the run hunted by the CIA. Without getting too much into the convoluted storyline this movie is kind of a mess. It's two hours and 45 minutes long and it's simply exhausting and this is coming from someone who happened to love the first three movies(all of them).

The positives for me were :

1. Optimus prime and Bumblebee.
The two autobots that we knw and love are the only ones returning for this 4th film. We  can't help to smile when we see that yellow Camaro or that red and blue awesome Truck. They certainly embody the best of the Transformers. We can relate to them, we emphatize with them.

2. Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager.
If you've read my Transfomers trilogy review you know that unlike many I was a fan of the Sam character but I have to admit that Walberg was an improvement over Sam and I believe that his character had a good role to play. I liked the fact that he was an inventor and his role as a dad.
Unfortunately his good performance was not enough to make this movie good.

3. Galvatron plot twist.
I have never watched a single episode of the Transformers cartoon therefore I had no clue as to who Galvatron was. I really enjoyed  how Megatron was actually controlling what KSI was doing and that he managed to transfer his consciousness into Galatron .

4. Optimus Prime riding a dinobot.
True, we had to wait 2 hours to see him riding a dinobot but how awesome was it? Amongst one of the greatest moments of the whole movie.

5. Micheal Bay's girls
let's face it! He has the ability of turning a regular girl into an amazingly hot chick and we have to give him credit for it. Apart the ass and thigh shots I particuarly enjoyed the shots when she was in the Camaro. Perfect Colors and perfect make up even though she had just gone out of an explosion.

Negatives:

1. Cheese dialogue
Worst dialogue of all the transformers movie, the dialogue was very bad and the lines were terrible, to say the least. I've never criticized Transformers scripts but in this case I'm gonna have to do it. As much as I enjoyed seeing Nicola Peltz on screen I really hated when she spoke because her lines were terrible.

2. Stanley Tucci character.
Stanley Tucci is a wonderful actor but in this movie he was the worst character. He started off really well as the CEO of KSI but from then it got worse by the second. I really hated his scene in the elevator and with the motorbike. As soon as he landed in China he became a completely different character.

3. Sponsors (Victoria Secret , shua milk) samurai autobot.
Was this a movie or a huge commercial? People bashed on The Amazing Spiderman 2 because it contained to many product placements but it didn't really bother me in that movie, in this however there were entire scenes shot with the sole purpose of promoting a product. The two scenes that really got me mad were the budlight scene and the shuwa milk .

4. Plot confusion
The movie is extensively long. Even those of you who enjoyed the movie will agree that the runtime is too much and the movie could have easily been spilt into two parts. 2 hours after walking out of the theater I couldn't even remember the reason (if there was one) behind all those fights and explosions. The plot was simply too convoluted and at times it didn't make sense.

5. Lack of character development amongs autobots
Same problem as the previous movies, everytime we get new autobots which we don't give a damn about and it seems that neither do they. Each time they give us new autobots with no personality and the only reason they do that is to peek the interest of someone. In this case the one of Japan with that stupid Samurai autobot who had no impact on the story and was completely useless.

6. Soundtrack
What happened to that beautiful soundtrack? They used it only in a couple of scenes but for the rest even the score was as louzy as the movie. The music makes everything better but they chose to make the movie worse than it already was.

Overall the story had fascinating twists. If the movie had been half an hour shorter it would have much more enjoyable. My excitment  for the next movie is not as high as it was for this one but I will definately not miss cool explosions , nice slow motion shots and beautiful chicks running around in shorts .
Despite the obvious flaws of the movie I believe that Micheal  Bay has clearly found the recipe for printing easy money and people love to see this type of movies.
I truly hope Michael Bay acknowledges his mistakes and gives us a next instalments which will resemble less this one and more the previous ones.

Brandon Routh returns to the DC Universe

                                                                                        Hey guys,
Superman Returns was definately not a great movie, but I still thought that Brandon Routh was a great Clark Kent and a really good Superman. At least he looked the part but let's face it the script didn't allow him to do more than that. After many years where he hasn't done much in Hollywood he will be making his comeback to a DC Comics based show: Arrow. Don't panic though, he's not goona reprise the role of the Last Son of Krypton but he'll have a new role. He'll play Atom (not to be confused with Captain Atom). He has the ability to shrink in size. Routh will be portraying the second incarnation of the DC character the one of the Silver Age named Ray Palmer who's a physics professor. Ray Palmer/Atom is also a Member of the JLA. Needless to say that I'm very excited about the return of Brandon to this Universe, I've always like him and even though his Superman movie wasn't great, you can find lots of videos on youtube of him talking about being the Man of Steel and he always seemed to be extremely interested in this comic book world. So my excitement for this casting has to do mainly with the enthusiasm and passion that Routh has showed for this genre.
And who knows maybe we'll get to see Routh standing beside Henry Cavill who plays Superman if recent rumors are indeed true. I truly hope so!

Heroes: What we know so far

Hey guys,
here's all we know as of today of the upcoming mini series of Heroes. During the winter Olympics it was announced that Heroes would return in 2015 with a mini series of 13 episodes. The show, as we all remember was cancelled in 2010 after one horrible season with very poor ratings and with a season finale (which turned out to be a series finale) which gave us no closure whatsoever.
Rumor circulating on the web said that Tim Kring &co were going to shoot a tv movie to wrap it all up but it never happened. A few months ago everything changed, NBC decided they wanna invest in Heroes once again and they'll start doing that with Heroes: Reborn. Now the question on everyone's mind is: Will this be a reboot or will it continue the story of the Heroes we know? I assumed it was going to be a reboot especially when I saw that previous cast members were as shocked as we were when hearing about the Jake Coleman who played Noah Bennet on the show would be returning to reprise his role. Now you would think that since Jake is coming back so is Claire who played his daughter on the show. Well not really according to Hayden Panettiere who said she'll not be back. We still don't know if this was the producers decision or if it was Hayden's decision. This is all we know so far. Oh wait, we also know that Milo Ventimiglia will not come back. He replied to one of his followers on twitter who asked him if he was going to come back and he said that he won't but he'll be watching the show from home. Needless to say this is a huge disappointment for me because I've always been a Peter Petrelli fan and I was disappointed with what they had done with him in Season 3 and 4.
return of Heroes, however few weeks ago it was announced that
We still don't know much about the storylines and very few statements have been made on the return of this hit tv series so all we'll have to do is wait and see how it turns out.
What would I like to get from this show?
I would like to show to give me closure, even with small references or cameos I want this show to tell me what happened to the characters that we all loved and then continue with its main story. If it were up to me I would definately bring Milo back and Zachary Quinto back because when you really think about those two were the protagonists and we deserve to see them have an epic final battle.
I really hope that in a few months I'll be able to say what a great show Heroes is.
